Why Religious Gurus Don’t Teach Men to Respect Women?

How many times have you come across a religious leader preaching about your connection to God? That must be quite often. But have you ever heard any of them tell a crowd not to demean their wives or eve tease women on the road. That doesn’t fall under religious preaching, right?

How many times have you read in a school textbook that you should help blind people to cross roads? You must have read that in moral science textbooks. But do any of these books teach little boys not to tease little girls in skirts? That’s sex education for you, right?

They teach you to wash your hands before eating food so as not to transmit germs. They don’t teach you to wear condoms so as not transmit germs!

They hate to talk about sexuality. They don’t tell you how you were born. They don’t think a girl should talk to a boy till she is married to him. They tell a guy that he has to take all responsibility of his wife; in other words, his wife is dependent on him, obviously because she is weaker than him.

A society that deliberately through an unwritten rule tries to say that a woman’s right place is below a man. They want to deny the existence of women and vote for men as their leaders. They worship Goddesses but don’t allow them to be born in their homes. They talk about nari shakti but it’s the woman who leaves her job after marriage.

Men get abused too. But how often do they make headlines? The newspaper proves everyday to the masses, women are weak, women are enticing and men are immoral. Rapists getting hanged never make headlines. The unwritten rules tell men it is alright for them to beat a woman. Have you ever heard a man going to jail for it? The unwritten rule tells women the world outside is not safe, they will never receive justice if they complain, they will be blamed for enticing drunken men.

A man dares not speak of his abuse. He will not be a man. A society unfair to women as well as men!

“Don’t cry like a girl”. “Hathon mein chooriyan pehen rakhi hai kya?” “Mother f*****” “Sister f******”! Why not “Father f*****” “Brother f*****”? Woman is the original sinner.

Ask a woman if she feels like a second citizen on earth. Oh! Women are from Venus. They are supposed to feel like aliens! Men are from Mars, they are supposed to feel the way they are! Are you a woman from Venus? When was the last time you went to a parlour, got waxed and threaded? Doesn’t it feel good? To be admired? To be desired by the opposite sex? Did you know that you could be labelled a bitch if you get molested as you step out of the parlour? Oh! So you got molested before you stepped into the parlour? It's because you are a woman and you shouldn't have stepped out of home to visit the parlour.

Wondering why the society is so confused? Do you want to blame them? Do you want to blame yourself? Are you fighting with your basic instincts?
