Laptop: Movie Review

A desire to live and a desire to continue living even after death dominates the theme of this beautiful story that begins when a laptop is stolen from a fertility clinic. The full essence of the film can perhaps be felt in the words of the blind writer when he talks about death to Rahul Bose. Kaushik Ganguly was fabulous as the blind writer who can "see" even if he can't.

Characters are very sensitively dealt. The visuals are poetic, sometimes reflecting the helplessness of the characters and sometimes the lighter side of life. The film makes you think, aren't there many "laptops" around us? It's not the "laptops" but the decisions we make that matter, and sometimes does it even matter? The characters were so different yet so similar at their core. They all wanted to live and to survive.

What if a laptop is stolen by a thief? Isn't he too setting aside his morals to fight his struggle for survival. In the end and after all life goes on.

Read in a review that the movie loses its pace at times. However, I felt that those moments that apparently seemed slow were actually moments of great suspense when your heart will go thump thump thump.

Laptop is an experience in itself. Worth a watch. Laptop will make you think about yourself the most.
But still wondering why it got the National Award!
