A Bullet in My Heart

Recently there was a news item in TOI (Kolkata) in the headlines that Gorkhaland supporters have put up posters where they have declared that if their demands are not met they will shoot Bengalis in the heart. And the posters were in Nepali language, coincidentally on pink chart papers!

I had a strange feeling in my heart, not just because I am Bengali... On my Sandakphu trip I got a chance to have a little more closer look on the viewpoint of the local people in the area, than I could have from here. They were all smiling faces. And they want a separate state to represent them since they are so much different from Bengalis. Maybe they are justified in their claims. After all Uttaranchal, Jharkhand, and Chattisgarh happened in recent times. So, why not Gorkhaland?

But I wonder in how many pieces
the world can be broken up...
categorized...
divided up between you and me...
